Meet Alison
Alison Vallejo is a Registered Nurse with over 20-years of experience in community nursing. Alison developed an unwavering passion for wound care early in her career. For the last ten years, she has dedicated herself to wound specific care, focusing on chronic wounds, such as lower leg ulcers.
Alison has a post-graduate diploma in wound management, certificates in wound debridement techniques. She is a credentialed wound clinician as of 2019. And most recently completed her Doctor of Philosophy in wound care in community nursing.
Alison has conducted research in wound biofilms and the use of novel therapies, such as ultrasonic debridement and topical antiseptics to assist wound healing. This work was part of her higher degree by research at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Alison has presented at academic and practice-focused conferences and published her work in peer-reviewed publications.
Alison is passionate about providing evidence-based client care, and education to undergraduate nursing students, nurses, health professionals, health care workers, carers and the individual with the wound, responsible for wound care.
